Onboarding Project Manager (9889351)

The ideal candidate is eager to learn and excited about creating world class new hire experiences and onboarding programs. You are able to facilitate our teams' best work by managing short- and long-term planning, anticipating project issues and resolving them, connecting resources to research needs, and removing barriers to doing great work. The Onboarding Project Manager is an expert in problem solving and multitasking while building long-term relationships with the team. You'll utilize a full range of organizational and interpersonal skills and learning and development knowledge to help our talented teams operate at their highest and most effective level. 

You have demonstrated success in fast-paced environments that require independent time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and keen ability to identify problems and proactively work towards solutions. Undaunted by complexity and working with stakeholders at all levels, you are able to navigate a highly complex area with many dependencies and involve stakeholders at the right times to get buy in and feedback, driving programs with measurable impact, that are continually refined, improved, and scaled to best serve audience needs. You are a critical and creative thinker with an ability to translate complex problems into concrete tangible processes and actions, who is energized by designing or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, processes or products.

This role requires broad knowledge of and experience in L&D programs and project management; knowledge of UX research/and or research is a plus, but not necessary.  Excellent communication, group facilitation, and presentation skills, combined with an ability to manage complex logistics, and a highly organized approach are mandatory. This is a full-time contract position based in our Menlo Park office.

  • Works with stakeholders, partners, and a program coordinator to facilitate and coordinate onboarding programs for new hires, with sessions running on alternating weeks
  • Provides strategic direction and project management for onboarding programs from program inception through to execution 
  • Tracks onboarding programs and activities and establishes a clear path and ownership of next steps 
  • Manages scheduling and bookings of training sessions, communications with participants, and program logistics independently and with the assistance of program coordinator
  • Manages onboarding documentation and provides on-going support for implemented processes
  • Curates content curriculum and facilitates sessions where applicable and needed 
  • Employs strong communication and organization skills with the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Facilitates relationships between teams, moves initiatives forward, finds resources, raises concerns to appropriate owners early and resolves open issues that prevent progress
  • Holds the line when schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationships
  • Predicts roadblocks and obstacles and establishes meetings or integration points between teams
  • Prioritizes competing needs with good reasoning and creative solutions
  • Ensures awareness of key milestone dates and communicates issues related to staying on schedule across initiatives
  • Exercises sound judgement: alerts key stakeholders appropriately and provides necessary visibility into challenges and concerns when time to act is still possible




  • 5+ years of relevant or related onboarding and/or Learning & Development Program or Project Management experience
  • Experience in onboarding, new hire orientation, new hire experience, or complex program/project management 
  • Track record of operating independently, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills with a proven ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy


  • Proven experience building and managing onboarding experiences for a global organization
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design, and/or group facilitation 
  • Experience creating and curating curriculum preferred
  • General knowledge of research and/or UX design is preferred



  • Minimum: BA/BS degree
  • Preferred: Master's degree
