Communications Specialist (9369604)

The Office Technology Deployment Team (OTD) is responsible for driving the full cycle of design, scheduling and deployment of IT Equipment in Facebook offices. This includes audio visual and video conferencing systems, printers, digital wayfinding, production events spaces, specialty demo spaces and more. Our team partners with facilities and IT to ensure the effective deployment of innovative spaces that help drive collaboration and communication company wide. As our OTD Internal Communications Specialist, you will be part of a team responsible for the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of information, for both internal and external partners. You will be responsible for the Content Management of our documents.



  • Create and maintain internal and external documentation for technologies and tools used by the team
  • Proactively identify and resolve gaps in the documentation
  • Translate data it into clear, concise, structured documentation
  • Work closely with EENB Leadership team, and supporting teams, to ensure the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of the content you create and develop
  • Design, write, and edit instructional and process documentation
  • Navigate through multiple platforms for information and identify opportunities to synthesize or consolidate
  • Create and/or maintain team Wiki Pages; our Home Page, the Team Runbook; instructional documentation, process documentation, and workflows
  • Recommend and help implement communication best practices and protocol
  • Strategize the optimal locating and centralization of key information that our team uses
  • Identify ways to improve business processes through improved communication
  • Develop team branding, boost team visibility, and clearly communicate the team’s value internally
  • Collaborate with Operations Program Manager on cohesive ‘voice’ and narrative for the team




  • 1-3 years of experience in writing technical, instructional, and business documentation
  • Experience writing, proofreading and editing both documentation you create as well as existing documentation
  • The ability to produce and organize content with a logical flow and understandable by all technical levels
  • Experience with tools such as
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • XML
    • HTML CSS (Cascade Style Sheets)
    • Markdown or Mediawiki Markup
    • Adobe InDesign
  • Ability to create charts and graphs using; photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation
  • Ability to maneuver through the current documentations to reduce redundancy
  • Content management: the ability to create and manage the process of collection, delivery, retrieval, governance and overall management of information in any format
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams in a time sensitive capacity
  • Ability to communicate with peers and management
  • Self-motivated & highly adaptable; takes initiative
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to follow directions and ask questions when not clear
  • Desire to drive results and demonstrate impact
  • Nice to have:
    • Comfortable working with Databases, with general knowledge of SQL and Oracle
    • Current experience with Office 365 and SharePoint
    • Experience with Marketing or Advertising strategy
